The Turf Commander, the Charlotte area's best commercial landscaper, took on a remarkable project at the Carolina Crossing Center. The goal was to enhance both functionality and aesthetics while addressing critical issues faced by the shopping center.
The Carolina Crossing Center had drainage challenges. Rainwater pooling and poor drainage flow caused erosion over time. The shopping center also had issues with unruly vegetation—grass, weeds, and invasive plants. Regular maintenance efforts struggled to keep up. First impressions matter, and the existing landscape did not give the greeting desired.
To address these issues The Turf Commander cleaned up the overgrowth and then brough in 21 tons of Cane Creek Ultra Thin stone. This unique blend, sourced from the heart of the Smoky Mountains, features earthy browns with dark streaks—a natural charm that evokes rustic elegance.
The stone was strategically placed to create pathways and permeable surfaces. Rainwater now flows efficiently, reducing puddles and erosion risks. Unlike traditional mulch, Cane Creek Ultra Thin stone doesn’t decompose or encourage weed growth. It acts as a natural barrier, keeping overgrowth at bay. The stone’s durability ensures longevity. No more constant replenishing or weeding. Its warm tones complement the shopping center’s architecture, elevating curb appeal.
The Carolina Crossing Center now stands as a testament to the power of well-chosen materials and expert workmanship. The Turf Commander prides itself on custom solutions not just for today, but for the long-haul!
